Short synopsis:

The last moments of a suicide bomber became his best moments of joy and happiness!

Directors note:

The Fundamentalist is a short film inspired by real events, added to it fictional details of course, but also many images that came from long period of research about THE TERRORIST MIND. The main character of the film ( no name), was inspired to us from a real act, committed by 2 libanese students in cologne shortly after the end of the world cup that was held in Germany the summer of 2006. One of them who was wearing a German football team tee shirt walked the city to the main train station in order to blow up himself there before he changed his mind. It is a short film about a young man, who is in a struggle with the walls and Demons inside of him.

The main motivation of making this movie is to try to understand and study what really goes on the mind of the young people, who are charged with explosives, who walk the city with it, ready to launch it from one moment to the other, involving with them many deaths and innocent victims. The Kamikaze people, who are mostly young people, who 99% of them have no knowledge about religion neither the actual political agenda. Their only motivation is: BECAUSE SOMEBODY ELSE TOLD THEM TO DO IT.
